A Hypernova is the brightest possible star. It is bigger and emits more energy than a Supernova. During their time in IJC or WRS, the Hockey Hypernovas burn with an unbelievable amount of passion and energy.
They impact their friends, school and community with the intensity of their life and spirit. Just as people throughout millennia have looked up to the stars for hope, light and direction, so too are the Hypernovas expected to lead the way both on and off the pitch.
Everywhere they go, people are changed by presence of these dynamic young men and women. To be touched by a Hypernova is incredible, to BE a Hypernova is sublime.
The Hypernovas is not merely a sport or a CCA (co-curricular activity), it is a family, it is a community. The Hypernovas all the way from the start in 2006 are a closely knit bunch with a firm knowledge of their history and their identity as Hypernovas, even as they constantly look towards their future.
When a young man or woman is accepted into the Hypernovas, they are presented with a Hypernova Crest.
The Crest design features rays of light emanating from the middle, representing the energy and passion each Hypernova will burn with.
The hockey sticks and ball in the centre represent the sport which binds all of them. These hockey sticks and ball also form the letters "IJ", reminding them that it was in Innova Junior College that it all started.
The Motto of the Hypernovas is inscribed at the bottom of the Crest, "Novus Prognatus Astrum" and signifies that the recipient of the Crest has joined the Hypernova Family and is now a "New Born Star".

The History of the Hockey Hypernovas (till 2015)
Innova Hockey started in the year 2005 under Mr Hamim Bin Abdul Rahman, former teacher in charge for the Yu Hua Highfliers and Mr Roland Chua Yew Gee, a former player during his JC days in SAJC.
The first captains were: Oei Wei Kang for the boys and Nina Sabrina for the girls. The coach was former national goalkeeper and then national coach, Mr Ronnie Yeo.
In 2006, Mr Joshua Tan, a former player in RJC, NUS and then playing for SHF Club C&C United joined as 3rd Teacher-in-charge.
Several milestones occurred in 2006.
The team was given the nickname "Hypernovas" because of the incredible amount of dedication and passion they had. At one point of time, the hockey team was training TEN times a week, with morning and afternoon sessions everyday.
2006 also saw the introduction of a special training kit. The yellow/blue and red/black design has become a tradition and is still in use today. Each batch now wears the Hypernova training jersey with pride and recognition.
The captains for 2006/2007 were: Muhd Khabir Hakim (Boys Capt), Chia You Ying (Boys Vice Capt), Edeline Phua Sze Hui (Girls Capt) and Cheryl Lee Pei Xia (Girls Vice Capt). The coach was Mr Gordon De Souza who played for SHF club D'Masters.
2007 brought more milestones in Innova Hockey history. Former women's national player and Crescent Hockey Club player, Rilaini Sapari joined Innova JC and became one of the teachers-in-charge, bringing with her invaluable experience and skills.
2007 saw the first ever tie-up between Innova Hockey and SHF Club C&C United. Several boys played in SHF Divison 2 alongside vastly more experienced players to develop their skills and game understanding. This experience was to prove useful as the boys clearly improved and they exceeded the accomplishments of their predecessors in the 'A' Divisions.
The captains for 2007/2008 were: Zulkarnain Hussein (Boys Capt), Zulhilmi (Boys Vice Capt), Emil Fazira (Girls Capt) and Ruseedia (Girls Vice Capt). The coaches were Mr Gordon De Souza and Mr Al Faizale Rossellande who played for SHF club Strongchamps.
2008 was no less exciting as Innova Hockey began to branch out to secondary schools. Besides tie-ups with SHF clubs like Police and C&C United, the Hypernovas began to train players from Riverside Secondary School. Efforts were also made to engage Evergreen Secondary and Woodlands Ring Secondary.
Under the guidance of the Hypernovas, Riverside Hockey did well in the inaugural Innova Hockey Invitational Tournament that saw them play against 6 invited school teams and finish 3rd despite just picking up the sport.
2008 also saw the first ever Hypernova Fiesta. 4 generations worth of Hypernovas met at the Hockey Village and played against each other. The boys team from the Class of 2008 and the girls team from the class of 2009 emerged as the champions of that inaugural tournament. It was indeed a moving sight to see such a big crowd of Innova Hockey alumni coming back to be a part of history.
The captains for 2008/2009 were: Zeng Heng Guang(Boys Capt), Mohd Asyraf (Boys Vice Capt), Elia Nurbaya (Girls Capt) and Janelle Lye (Girls Vice Capt). The coach was Mr Al Faizale Rossellande a.k.a "Ornet" who then played for SHF club Police.
2009 started off with a bang: The Hypernovas played in Hockey One's 5-a-side Tournament in the Men's and Women's Open category against top ranking clubs and schools.
The boys team led by Heng Guang faced experienced teams like Singapore Veterans and the Dutch club and emerged 5th out of a field of 16 quality teams. The girls led by Elia defied all odds to clinch the champion's trophy by beating UWC 3-2 in a nail-biting finals.
2009 also saw Mr Joshua Tan add himself to the Singapore Hockey Federation's Register of Coaches.
February also witnessed an understanding between Innova Hockey and Woodlands Ring Secondary School to help set up and develop a hockey CCA there in 2009.
Unfortunately, due to the H1N1 Pandemic of 2009, the plans to start hockey in Woodlands Ring Secondary School was put on hold much to the disappointment of many of the secondary school students at WRS.
The Boys team did well that year finishing top 6 in the National Schools A Division Tournament for the first time.
2009 witnessed the 2nd Hypernova Fiesta in which 5 generations of Hypernovas met at Hockey Village for a morning of fun and renewal of ties.
The captains for 2009/2010 were: Vijay Deepan (Boys Capt), Jeremiah Tan (Boys Vice Capt), Yvonne Joan Devadas (Girls Capt) and Darliyana Ramlan (Girls Vice Capt). The coach was Mr Al Faizale Rossellande a.k.a "Ornet" who then played for SHF club Police.
2010 was another successful year for the Boys team who did well finishing top 6 in the National Schools A Division Tournament for the second time.
2010 witnessed the 3rd Hypernova Fiesta in which 6 generations of Hypernovas met at Hockey Village for a morning of fun and renewal of ties.
The captains for 2010/2011 were: Aaron Chang(Boys Capt), Alvin Wah (Boys Vice Capt), but there was unfortunately no girl's team that year. The coach was Mr Al Faizale Rossellande a.k.a "Ornet" who then played for SHF club Police.
2011 was a significant year for the Hypernovas. Mr Joshua Tan left IJC to take up a position in Woodlands Ring Secondary School to set up a Hockey CCA there. He also became the coach for IJC Hockey and together with Mrs Nordin and Coach Nordin, helped the IJC Hypernovas to a top 6 position for the third year running in the national A Division Hockey Tournament. Furthermore, 2011 was the first year Innova Hypernovas went overseas to Malaysia for a hockey tour. In addition, Mr Chan Meng Pat joined Innova Hockey to add analytical brilliance to the teacher team.
The 4th Hypernova Fiesta in 2011 was a special one as it was the first year we witnessed Hypernovas from two different schools coming together to play hockey.
There were 7 generations of Innova Hypernovas and 1 generation of WRS Hypernovas at Hockey Village for a very significant milestone in Hypernova History.
The captains for the Innova Hypernovas in 2011/2012 were: Amir Salleh (Boys Capt), Luqman Al-Hakim (Boys Vice Capt), Eos Noelle Louise Oaper (Girls Capt) and Fatin Nur Adibah (Girls Vice Capt). The coach was Mr Joshua Tan. The captains for the WRS Hypernovas were: Izzul Ishraf and Cedric Chin. The coach was Mr Joshua Tan.
2012 was another year that saw the Hypernovas grow from strength to strength. Mrs Rilaini Nordin left IJC to teach at her Alma Mater, Crescent Girl's School and the Innova Hypernovas welcomed Mr Ahmad Sumantri who took over the reins of the Innova Hypernovas and strengthened the team of teachers at IJC. The WRS Hypernovas welcomed Ms Joyce Kow and Ms Amirah Ariffin to the secondary school side. Two new coaches were hired, Mr Haikal for IJC and Mr Hanif for WRS. The Innova Hypernovas were joined by Ms Seah Sim Yee and the WRS Hypernovas were bolstered by the addition of Mr Freddy Tan and the very experienced Mr Karamjit Singh.
Another significant milestone in 2014 was the change in leadership at the Singapore Hockey Federation. This change also involved Mrs Rilaini Nordin and Mr Joshua Tan becoming part of the SHF Council, in particular on the SHF Youth Development Committee.
In addition the Hypernovas played in the SHF League 5 and finished 9th overall.
The Hypernovas also saw the beginnings of a move from just a group of hockey players to becoming a full fledged society. A group of Alumni which included Muhd Khabir Hakim, Iman Azhar, Rochester Tan, Elia Nurbaya, Nurul Huda "Keeper", Victoria Anne Fernandez, Tan Jing Yi, Faaqih Hilmy, Adib Shafie, Haziq Ridzwan and Yen Zi Rong met at the end of the year to formulate the Constitution for the planned Club.

The time has come:)
Hi all!
In less than a month, the annual Hypernova Fiesta will commence and aren't we all excited?!
It is the event where all Hypernovians (former and current) will come together for a morning of fun, laughter, sweat and pain (aftermath of the games). Generations of Hypernovians will gather and I'm sure this year will be no exception!
I just want to share an article i read from The NewPaper on the 03/11/2011.

I just want to share an article i read from The NewPaper on the 03/11/2011.
What caught my eye from this article is the drive and passion of these 'young' men. Despite their age, they are still willing to play and, I'm sure, still passionate about the game. If these men are strong enough and willing to take the time off from their busy schedules, why can't we?
This article got me thinking of those days when I was in school, playing for my team, training for games and friendlies. I'm sure every generation of Hypernovians have their own 'horror' stories but oddly, these 'horrors' are those we remember fondly of our time in school.
The next Hypernova Fiesta is just around the corner (03 December 2011!), a family reunion. A reunion to welcome the new, a time to catch up with old friends. So mark the date on your calenders and come down for a good time! Take a much needed break from studies and work. I'll see you there!
Best Wishes,
Nurul Huda

confirmed list
my bad. tickets are issued on a day by day basis, not game by game.
whatever it is, ive told mrs nordin the j2 boys want 14 tickets for every match day (group stages) cus i think every day also has a game worthy enough to watch and you guys requested it so to avoid confusion, just get every day.
